5 Ways You’ll Find Freedom Here

Homeschooling isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always fun. But what if I told you that both are more attainable than not? My goal with There Is No Box is to help you find freedom and support in your family’s homeschooling journey so that you can enjoy the adventure together, making the most of every opportunity, as stress-free as possible.

1. Help you feel comfortable homeschooling in the season of life that you’re in now

Homeschooling looks as different as each family who does it. Your journey does not need to look like the school system or like your neighbor’s. The beauty of learning is that it can happen in any environment. It can happen in a classroom and outside, in a group and individually, around the dinner table and while on vacation. The opportunities to learn are only limited by our willingness to seize them.

There Is No Box was created to help you recognize the opportunities that are all around us everyday, and to give you the resources to take advantage of them.

2. Give you courage to try new things with your kids

There is no right or wrong way to homeschool. Our family’s approach to learning has continued to change throughout the years as our needs changed. Each of my children learns differently than the others. We’ve tried many new things – some worked and some didn’t – and that’s part of the fun!

The blog posts are resources here are made with you in mind – to give you the courage to step out and try something new with your kids! Explore something you haven’t considered before. Think about a basic concept in an unusual way. Give yourself the permission and freedom to experiment!

3. Make homeschool preparation less stressful with high quality resources

In seasons where I didn’t have time or desire to plan, I was saved by the wealth of resources created and shared online by others who had gone before me. With one click of a button, I had a lesson at my fingertips.

My hope is that There Is No Box will be a site that helps make lesson preparation easier for you. Whether giving you ideas that can be easily implemented right now, or providing resources that save you time and energy, I am excited to be for you what others have been for me.

4. Help you break free from the comparison game

It is so easy to get caught up in the comparison game, lost in the stress of adhering to standards that may not be relevant for us personally. Sometimes we need a little friendly encouragement to give us the strength to press on and celebrate every growth, no matter how small or slow.

The goal of There Is No Box is to help you break out of the mindset of a one-size-fits-all approach to education and learning. We are uniquely created individuals and this blog celebrates that diversity! Enjoy the homeschooling ride, and make it your own!

5. Give you confidence to take the best and leave the rest

What works for your family will be different than what works for us, and that’s perfectly okay. There is no need to adjust your family to the expectations of something or someone else. Instead, take what works best for you and run with it! Watch for what sparks excitement in your kids, and capitalize on that. Don’t be afraid to dump the rest.

In my early years of homeschooling, I learned from those who had been doing it longer than I had. I took their recommendations on curriculum and approaches, and found some things that worked well for our family. Now it’s my turn to pay it forward. I will highlight resources that we have used and loved that you can use for your own inspiration.

As you scroll through blog posts and check out the resources in my shop, may you find the freedom and support to enjoy new adventures in your homeschool!
